Found this beaut of a video on YouTube. Scary stuff: today, automakers seem to have a pretty easy time of building vehicles that meet or exceed the most stringent crash-test requirements the market has ever seen. Of course, that wasn’t always the case.
Go back 15 or 20 years, before the era of high-tensile steel and advanced computer-aided design, and vehicle crash-test results were a lot, well, scarier.
Here’a a video of some crash-tests from days gone, complete with metal-impaling carnage and destruction to make you thankful most of these vehicles are no longer around.
