Well, by golly– color me smitten. I’ve been driving the new Cadillac XT5, and I think I’ve found my new favorite luxury crossover interior.And less than half a year since the new Lexus RX had me feeling pretty certain I’d found the best luxury posh-ute cabin going today.
This one’s a worthy contender when shopper priorities in a big-buck crossover include a tranquil ride, excellent ride quality, top-tier gadgetry, and a lengthy list of feature content must-haves. But the XT5’s most valuable asset has to be its new cabin.
She’s just on another level, fellas. Where the norm seems to be a space-pod like array of consoles and dials and controllers and touch-pads, the XT5’s centre console has, like, 6 buttons on it. And that leaves plenty of room for showing off about 3 square miles of rich leather and suede, intersected with aluminum and carbon-fiber-esque trim.
It’s simple, elegant, blessedly tidy looking, and word-class lavish.
